Tiwa Savage Honors Late Designer Sadia Sanusi with Stunning Kente Look in Accra
Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Tiwa Savage has paid a glowing tribute to the late Ghanaian fashion designer Sadia Sanusi after stunning in one of her iconic Kente creations at the wedding of Bozoma Saint John and Keely Watson in Accra last Friday.
Tiwa, who appeared in a striking Kente ensemble crafted by the late designer’s team, was widely praised as one of the best‑dressed guests at the star‑studded ceremony. Her look has since dominated social media, trending as one of the standout outfits of the event.
According to reports, the dress was produced in under 24 hours.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Tiwa wrote: “Celebrating love between my sister @badassboz and @keelywatson. May God bless your union. Such an honour to be dressed in @saadiasanusi, may your legacy live on.”
Behind the glamour was an emotional revelation. Tiwa’s stylist, Ade Owolabi, shared on her Instagram story that Tiwa was unaware the designer had passed away at the time of styling.
“I did not know about the passing of the owner, Sadia Sanusi, until Tiwa was on her way to the event and called me to ask, ‘Did you know the owner passed?’ I was shocked. I thought, ‘Wait… wasn’t I just talking to the owner?’”
She added that discovering the brand only 48 hours before the wedding felt divinely guided.
“After hearing the news, I was honestly so sad. But at the same time, I felt grateful and amazed that I had been led to use this designer. God knows why.”
Owolabi praised the team Sadia left behind, noting that their professionalism and excellence reflect the strength of her legacy.
“She built something beautiful. She left behind an amazing team, and I believe that says so much about a person and the legacy they leave behind.”
The late Sadia Sanusi, founder of the luxury fashion house that bears her name, passed away two months ago. Yet her brand continues to earn international acclaim — with Tiwa Savage’s tribute standing as the latest testament to her enduring influence.
