'I want to join Gen Z because I feel young; I think music is still in me' — Ofori Amponsah
Multiple award-winning musician Ofori Amponsah has expressed his desire to connect with the younger generation of musicians, saying he wants to use his experience to help nurture the next generation of Ghanaian musical talents.
In an interview with Kafui Dey, the highlife musician said he still feels young and believes he has much more to contribute to the music industry despite his years of experience.
“I want to join Gen Z because I feel young. I think music is still in me,” he said.
Ofori Amponsah said he considers himself to be only halfway through his musical journey and is therefore looking to explore new opportunities while remaining active in the industry.
“I feel that I am in the middle of my career, so I want to do something else,” he stated.
As part of this new direction, he said he wants to work closely with younger musicians and pass on the knowledge and experience acquired throughout his career.
“I’ll bring on board the kids, the young ones, and teach them the ways of the great musicians like myself and the others that Ghana has known,” he said.
