Brother Ishmael wins Male Vocalist of the Year at Ghana Music Awards USA
Ghanaian gospel musician Brother Ishmael has added another major achievement to his growing music career after winning Male Vocalist of the Year at the 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA.
The gospel artiste announced the achievement in a celebratory post on social media, expressing gratitude to God, his supporters and everyone who voted for him.
“All glory to God! Thank you to everyone who voted, supported, and believed in us. ❤️ This win is for YOU!”
The victory comes after Brother Ishmael was officially nominated in the Male Vocalist of the Year category alongside RevGraceMan Nana Yaw Prempeh, Muzic Mensah, Daniel Nii Nertey Nettey, James K. Owusu, HTSongz and Saucelord.
The 2026 Ghana Music Awards USA ceremony was held at the Hyatt Regency Princeton in New Jersey. The awards scheme continues to provide a platform for recognising Ghanaian musical talent both in Ghana and across the diaspora.
His catalogue includes songs such as “God Is a Spirit,” “The Presence,” “Adom Nyame,” “Know Jesus,” “Nyame Anounyam (God’s Glory),” “Great Commission” and “Nyame Beye (God Will Do It).”
Brother Ishmael has also received recognition for his work in gospel music. In 2025, he won New Artiste of the Year at the Ghana Music Awards USA, marking an important milestone in his emergence on the international gospel scene.
His 2026 victory therefore represents another significant step in his career, coming just a year after his New Artiste of the Year triumph.
Interestingly, Brother Ishmael was also nominated for Gospel Artiste of the Year at the 2026 awards and received a nomination for Best Gospel Song of the Year with “Nyame Beye.”
With his latest recognition for vocal excellence, Brother Ishmael continues to strengthen his position among Ghanaian gospel musicians making an impact in the United States and beyond.
