Sugar Mummy headquarters is based in Abuja – Nedu

Nigerian media personality, Nedu Wazobia, has stirred controversy after claiming that Abuja is the “headquarters” of the sugar mummy culture in Nigeria.

Nedu made the remark during a conversation with content creator Ludahydrate, where the pair discussed relationships involving older wealthy women and younger men.

According to the broadcaster, the sugar mummy scene is one of the biggest “industries” in their country, with Abuja serving as its main hub.

“The Sugar Mummy industry is one of the biggest industries in Nigeria. The headquarters, as far as I am concerned, is here in Abuja,” he said.

Ludahydrate agreed with Nedu's view, attributing the trend to the city's political class. He argued that some wealthy women become financially independent after divorcing influential politicians and are no longer interested in remarrying.

According to him, some of these women receive valuable assets, including businesses and properties, as part of divorce settlements, making them financially secure.

“She has kids but doesn't have any man in her life. That kind of woman might not want to get married again. She will prefer to just have a Sugar Boy,” Ludahydrate said.
