Gyakie calls out KNUST SRC over performance claim

Ghanaian singer Gyakie has debunked reports claiming she was scheduled to perform at the 2026 KNUST SRC Week celebration.

The rumours began after educational media platform Thevokofficial shared a post on X, listing the “Something” hitmaker as one of the artistes expected to perform at the event.

The post also highlighted Gyakie's connection to the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), where she studied. It recalled an alleged incident in 2019 in which she was booed during a performance at Republic Hall Week.

However, the singer quickly responded to the post, making it clear that she had not been booked for the event.

“Unfortunately, I'm not performing tonight. Hopefully, KNUST SRC acknowledges the hard work and gets things done the right way,” she wrote.

Her response has since put to rest speculation about her appearance at the university's annual SRC Week celebration.
