Ghana Music Awards Europe Unveils 2026 Nominees
The organizers of Ghana Music Awards Europe (GMAEU) have officially announced the nominees for the 2026 edition, celebrating outstanding achievements by Ghanaian musicians both at home and across the diaspora.
Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, King Paluta, Diana Hamilton, Kofi Kinaata and Medikal headline this year's nominations as Ghana's finest local and diaspora talents compete for top honours.
This year's nominations feature some of the country's biggest names, including **Black Sherif, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale, King Paluta, Kofi Kinaata, Medikal, Wendy Shay, Sarkodie, Joe Mettle, Diana Hamilton, Kuami Eugene, Fameye, Kweku Smoke,** and **Kwabena Kwabena**, alongside a new generation of artistes making impressive strides in the music industry.
One of the most competitive categories, Most Popular Song of the Year, sees Black Sherif's Sacrifice, King Paluta's Foko and Ewor Me, Medikal's Shoulder featuring Shatta Wale and Beeztrap KOTM, Wendy Shay's Crazy Love, Moliy's Shake It to the Max Remix, Shatta Wale's Street Crown, Kofi Kinaata's Have Mercy Pt. 2, and several other hit songs battle for the top prize.
The New Artiste of the Year category recognizes emerging talents including Kojo Blak, Lalid, Gonaboy, Paul Enana, Cojo Rae, Rcee, Thy Favour, and Adom Kiki, while the Gospel Artiste of the Year category features Diana Hamilton, Joe Mettle, Piesie Esther, Joyce Blessing, MOGmusic, Mabel Okyere, Ewura Abena, and Kofi Owusu Peprah.
Competition is also expected to be intense in the Hip Life/Hip Hop Artiste of the Year**, Highlife Artiste of the Year, Album/EP of the Year, Best Collaboration of the Year, Best Music Video of the Year, and Songwriter of the Year categories, reflecting another remarkable year for Ghanaian music.
Beyond the local categories, the awards continue to recognize Ghanaian talent making an impact internationally through its Diaspora categories. Artistes including Danny Lampo, Daniel Jeddman, RevGraceMan, Navah Music, Samuel Sey, Akua Gifa, Mrryder, Mr. Talisman, Muzic Mensah, Yaw Bossman, and many others have secured nominations for their contributions to Ghanaian music abroad.
The release of the nominees marks the beginning of what is expected to be an exciting awards season, with fans eagerly anticipating the announcement of voting details and the official awards ceremony.
