'Samini took me in after I completed SHS, he will always be my big brother' – Stonebwoy
Award-winning dancehall artiste Stonebwoy has expressed profound appreciation to fellow musician Samini, crediting him with playing a pivotal role in his rise to prominence in Ghana's music industry.
Speaking during a live TikTok session, the BHIM Nation president reflected on how Samini discovered his talent while he was still a student in Senior High School (SHS) and assured him that they would work together once he completed his education.
Stonebwoy said Samini honoured that promise by welcoming him into his camp after school and treating him as a younger brother, an experience he described as the foundation of their enduring relationship.
According to the dancehall star, the bond they built goes beyond music, which is why he continues to regard Samini as his elder brother.
“He took me in after I completed SHS and treated me like his younger brother. That's why I call him my big brother. There is nothing he can do that will make me hate him,” Stonebwoy said.
Stonebwoy began his professional music career under Samini's mentorship in the mid-2000s, where he honed his craft and gained valuable experience in the entertainment industry before eventually launching his own record label, BHIM Nation.
Since then, he has grown into one of Ghana's most successful and internationally recognised music acts.
Although the two musicians have experienced occasional differences over the years, they have since reconciled and have publicly acknowledged the significant influence they have had on each other's careers.
