Polo Boat Party Makes a Splash on the Thames as 400 Guests Turn Up for Luxury Debut
The inaugural Polo Boat Party on the Thames, held on Saturday, June 13 at Butler’s Wharf Pier, delivered a standout debut that fused luxury entertainment with one of London’s most iconic riverfront experiences.
Organised by Akosua Serwaa Afriyie under her brand AKOSUA KONCEPTZ, the 6 PM to 11 PM cruise welcomed about 400 guests aboard a premium vessel marketed as “better, bigger, classier, and more extravagant” than the typical London boat party.
A defining highlight of the night was the live viewing of the Tower Bridge opening from the water — a moment many attendees described as the ultimate spectacle. The experience was enhanced by curated drinks, food service, music entertainment, and on‑board photoshoots, all crafted to deliver a refined, upscale atmosphere.
Set against the backdrop of Butler’s Wharf Pier, the event marked a strong first edition, blending social lifeclass culture with London’s river heritage.
After the event, the CEO of AKOSUA KONCEPTZ issued a reflective statement thanking guests, partners, sponsors, and supporters for what she called a “historic success.” She confirmed the maiden edition reached 400 attendees and acknowledged both praise and constructive feedback from participants.
“Excellence is not a destination — it is our standard,” she said. “Our second edition will reflect everything we’ve learned, with a more refined experience, smoother operations, elevated luxury, premium entertainment, and unforgettable moments from start to finish.”
She added that the team is not simply planning another event but “creating an experience that raises the bar,” announcing that the second edition is scheduled for Saturday, June 19, 2027.
Her statement has set expectations for an expanded and more polished return, positioning the Polo Boat Party as an emerging fixture in London’s luxury event scene.
