Over 300 actors audition for upcoming film 'Scarlett Unveiled'
The much-anticipated auditions for Scarlett Unveiled turned into one of the largest independent film casting events in recent times, as more than 300 aspiring and established actors thronged Studio 04 at MCB Studios in Lapaz Tabora for a marathon audition session that lasted over 16 hours.
The exercise was led by award-winning filmmaker Big Ghun alongside media personality and producer Doreen Avio and attracted a diverse mix of A list actors, rising talents, theatre performers, content creators, and first time hopefuls eager to secure roles in the upcoming Ghanaian feature film.
From the early hours of the morning until late into the night, Studio 04 remained filled with excitement and anticipation as participants from different parts of the country showcased their acting abilities before the casting panel.
Organisers said the massive turnout highlighted the growing excitement surrounding Scarlett Unveiled, a new Ghanaian production that seeks to blend film, literature, music, and youth engagement into a major cultural project.
The film is based on the true story of a living individual and is expected to go into production and be released soon.
The project has already secured collaborations with the Embassy of Switzerland in Ghana, Woodin and Ayoba, further positioning it as one of the most ambitious independent Ghanaian film productions currently in development.
Speaking after the auditions, producer Doreen Avio expressed excitement about the overwhelming response and her experience serving on an audition panel for the first time.
"Wow, I couldn't believe my eyes, its my first time doing this and its been interesting seeing all these people, especially the 83-year-old man," she said.
