“I Ate Imaginary Food on the Floor” — Funny Face Shares Raw, Surprising Moments From Psychiatric Treatment
Comedian and actor Funny Face has opened up about some of the unusual and eye‑opening experiences he encountered during his stays at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital and Pantang Hospital for mental health treatment.
In an interview on Joy Prime, he described his journey as both difficult and unexpectedly insightful, revealing how interactions with fellow patients shaped parts of his recovery.
According to him, many patients approached him for conversations, advice, and companionship — even when their own conditions were more severe.
“Imagine someone who is crazier than you coming to advise you,” he said.
“I had a friend in there, and after hearing my story, he told me my situation is even worse.”
Funny Face explained that he often joined patients in their unusual behaviours to make them feel understood and accepted.
“In my quest to make them feel I understand them, I also indulged them. We ate imaginary food on the floor and had weird conversations that made no sense,” he recounted.
He said these moments, though strange, became part of his healing process and helped him appreciate the realities of mental health struggles.
Funny Face has been vocal about his mental health journey in recent years, using his experiences to raise awareness and encourage others to seek help without shame.
