'Dumsor is not deliberate, no government wants to go down that path' - Mzbel

Ghanaian musician, Mzbel has weighed in on the ongoing power crisis, stating that the situation is not a deliberate act by government but rather a challenge authorities are working hard to resolve.

Speaking during a discussion on United Showbiz, Mzbel emphasized that no government would intentionally allow persistent power outages, popularly known as “dumsor,” given its political and economic consequences.

She cited a remark by Nana Frimpong Ziega, who noted that no government can win an election during prolonged dumsor, underscoring that such a situation would be politically damaging to any ruling party.

According to Mzbel, it would therefore make little sense for any administration to deliberately create or sustain a power crisis that could cost them public support and electoral success.

She urged Ghanaians to exercise patience and understanding, stressing that the government is making efforts behind the scenes to stabilize the power supply and ensure consistent electricity for all.
