'I've turned down a feature from Sarkodie three times' - De Likee

Dr Likee and Sarkodie

Ghanaian actor and comedian Dr Likee has made a surprising revelation about his interactions with award-winning rapper Sarkodie, disclosing that he turned down multiple opportunities to feature him on his songs.

Speaking during an interview on Hits FM with Kwame Dadzie and Doreen Avio, Dr Likee shared insights into his music journey and the decisions he has made along the way.

According to him, Sarkodie visited him in the studio on about three different occasions while he was recording. He revealed that the rapper, after listening to one of his songs, expressed interest in jumping on the track. However, Dr Likee said he declined the offer.

Despite the unexpected decision, Dr Likee explained that his choice was intentional. When asked whether he would consider doing rap songs, he admitted that it’s something he has thought about, but added that featuring a heavyweight like Sarkodie could overshadow him.

He suggested that Sarkodie’s strong presence on a track might take away the spotlight from him, which influenced his decision not to collaborate at the time.

During the interview, Dr Likee also took a moment to appreciate Medikal for the immense support he has shown him throughout his career. Although he chose not to go into details, describing the matter as personal, he expressed gratitude for the rapper’s consistent backing.
