Mark Okraku Mantey told 5Five they were wack and won't get anywhere - BullGod

Ghanaian artiste manager and entertainment executive, Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, has disclosed that veteran music executive Mark Okraku-Mantey once described the hiplife duo 5Five as “wack” and predicted they would not make significant progress in the music industry.

BullGod made the revelation during an interview with media personality Kafui Dey, where he recounted the early struggles of the group and the blunt feedback they received from industry insiders.

According to BullGod, Mark Okraku-Mantey did not mince words when he first assessed the musical direction of 5Five. He reportedly told the group that their sound and overall approach to music at the time were not good enough to help them succeed in the competitive Ghanaian music scene.

Despite the harsh criticism, BullGod noted that Okraku-Mantey did not stop at just pointing out their flaws. Instead, he offered constructive advice that would later prove instrumental in the group’s development.

BullGod explained that Okraku-Mantey suggested that the duo seek the expertise of renowned Ghanaian music producer Appietus to help refine their sound and improve the quality of their music.

Taking the advice seriously, 5Five eventually worked with Appietus, a move that helped shape their musical identity and contributed to their rise in Ghana’s hiplife scene. The group later went on to release several popular songs that cemented their place in the industry.
