Court Records Debunk Claims Black Sherif Owes GH¢229,500 in Rent Arrears

Claims circulating on social media that Black Sherif has been ordered to pay GH¢229,500 in rent arrears are false, according to official records from District Court 1 in Adenta.

Court documents confirm that the case, filed by Dr. Evelyn Esi Awittor, is still ongoing and has not reached any judgment. The next hearing is scheduled for March 3, 2026.

The property at the centre of the dispute has a complicated legal background, having been under attachment by the Accra High Court since February 2024—an issue entirely unrelated to Black Sherif or the tenancy matter.

The GH¢229,500 figure being circulated online represents the amount the plaintiff is claiming as alleged unpaid rent as of July 31, 2025. It is not a court‑determined debt, nor has the court ruled that Black Sherif owes this amount.

Sources further indicate that the Adjiringanor premises in question serve as offices and studios for the RBA, not as the musician’s residence. The substantive legal arguments are yet to be heard, and the matter will be formally addressed during the upcoming court proceedings.
