DKB Sparks Outrage After Claiming He “Used to Beat” Persons With Disabilities
One of Africa’s most prominent comedians, Derrick Kobina Bonney—widely known as DKB—has sparked outrage after revealing that he once took pleasure in beating people with disabilities.
According to DKB, persons with disabilities are “evil,” a claim he made during his headline event, New Year Comedy Night, held at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.
“The disabled are very wicked… We used to beat them when I was at Korle Gonno,” he said during his performance.
Despite the controversy, the night was not defined solely by DKB’s remarks. The show featured a strong lineup of Ghana’s top comedic talents, including Lekzy DeComic, OB Amponsah, and Jeneral Ntatia, who delivered energetic sets that kept the audience engaged throughout.
The event drew a diverse crowd of media personalities, musicians, and political figures, including Fiifi Kwetey, General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), as well as Geovani Caleb and Philipa Baafi.
The well-attended comedy show was sponsored by Sir James Plantain Chips and Happy Man Bitters.
