Chymny Crane shines at Saminifest 2025, calls for unity and better industry understanding

Chymny Crane delivered a commanding and memorable performance at Saminifest 2025, marking a major milestone in his evolving career.

Taking the stage at one of Ghana’s most respected live music festivals, the rapper and lyricist proved his readiness for bigger platforms, earning strong audience reactions and industry attention.

Speaking after the event, Chymny Crane expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity to perform at Saminifest, describing it as an honour to open for a festival of such cultural and musical significance.

“I really appreciate the opportunity to open an event like Saminifest. It’s a blessing, and I would love to be booked on more events like this,” he said.

Addressing Misinterpretation and Industry Narratives

Chymny Crane also took the opportunity to address past misunderstandings surrounding his lyrical expression—particularly claims that his work carried “bad mind” energy or disrespect toward fellow Ghanaian rap heavyweight Sarkodie.

He firmly clarified that such interpretations were a misjudgement of his character.

“There was never any personal feeling or disrespect towards Sarkodie. It was purely the healthy, competitive spirit of hip-hop,” he explained.

According to Chymny Crane, lyrical competitiveness is a foundational element of hip-hop culture, but not every artist is obliged to engage in it.

“Maybe Sarkodie wasn’t ready to play—and that’s okay. But there was no bad intention from my side.”

Looking Forward, Not Back
Rather than dwelling on controversy, Chymny Crane made it clear that his focus is on growth, collaboration, and progression. He shared his hope to one day perform at Rapperholic, Sarkodie’s flagship annual event, and even left the door open for a future collaboration.

“A collaboration would actually be the right thing to do. Music is about building, not tearing down.”

A Call for Better Industry Infrastructure

Beyond personal matters, Chymny Crane raised a broader concern about the lack of collaborative infrastructure within the music industry to manage misunderstandings between artists. He believes that in the absence of proper communication channels, the media often fills the gap—sometimes prioritizing clickbait narratives over context.

“There isn’t enough structure to handle these situations properly. That’s when the media takes advantage and turns things into clickbait,” he noted.

Inspired by Giants, Focused on His Own Time

Chymny Crane openly credits Samini and Shatta Wale as major sources of inspiration, praising their resilience, longevity, and dominance in the Ghanaian music space.

“I see what Samini and Shatta have achieved, and I see myself in that same role when my time is due,” he said confidently.

A Rising Voice with Purpose
With a standout showing at Saminifest 2025 and a composed, forward-thinking outlook, Chymny Crane continues to position himself as an artist focused on substance, performance, and long-term relevance. His message is clear: growth over grudges, clarity over controversy, and music over noise.

As his journey unfolds under RKMG Publishing, many believe Saminifest 2025 may be remembered as the moment Chymny Crane truly announced himself as one to watch.
