'Movie piracy is pure theft and punishment should be issued' — BullGod

BullGod

Movie piracy is a big issue in Ghana's entertainment industry, with many TV stations and individuals engaging in the unauthorised broadcast of copyrighted content.

Music producer and artist manager BullGod of Bullhaus has weighed in on the issue, describing movie piracy as "pure theft."

According to BullGod, the owners of TV stations involved in piracy are often influential figures in the media space who should know better.

BullGod acknowledges that technicalities may be cited as excuses, but he believes these are merely weak justifications that shouldn't be entertained.

He emphasises that the TV station owners and top officials are well-compensated, making it challenging to mete out direct punishment for piracy offences.

Despite the difficulties in combating piracy, BullGod stresses that something needs to be done to protect the creative industry. He advocates for stricter enforcement of copyright laws and punishment for offenders to deter future instances of piracy.
