Empress Gifty has upper hand over Agradaa in the GHS20million defamation case — Afua Pokua explains

Empress Gifty, Vim Lady and Mama Pat

Afia Pokuaa, also known as Vim Lady, has shared her insights on the defamation case Empress Gifty brought against Evangelist Mama Pat aka Agradaa.

According to her, Empress Gifty seems to have the upper hand in the case, even before it goes to court. The reason for this, she explained, is that Mama Pat's allegations against Empress Gifty, which include claims of prostitution and inappropriate relationships, would be difficult to prove with concrete evidence.

Afia Pokuaa highlighted that in today's judicial landscape, judges often look beyond the courtroom and consider the broader social media context and the impact on the individuals involved. Given the nature of Mama Pat's allegations, Afia Pokuaa believes it will be challenging for her to provide sufficient evidence to support her claims.

Empress Gifty has filed a defamation lawsuit against Mama Pat, seeking GH₵20 million in damages for allegedly making slanderous remarks about her on social media. The gospel singer claims that Mama Pat's statements have damaged her reputation and emotional well-being. The lawsuit also seeks an injunction to prevent Mama Pat from further publishing defamatory content, removal of the content from social media platforms, and reimbursement for legal costs.

Mama Pat has responded dismissively, ridiculing the lawsuit and describing it as an empty threat. However, Afia Pokuaa's analysis suggests that Empress Gifty may have a strong case due to the lack of evidence supporting Mama Pat's allegations.
