Ghanaian actor Bright Owusu, popularly known as C Confion, has passed away while undergoing treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi.

The unfortunate news was confirmed in a press statement released on Friday, December 20, by Akabenezer Production, the management team overseeing the actor’s career.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the demise of our brother Bright Owusu, popularly known as C Confion,” the statement read. “We tried our possible best to do what we can to save his life, but unfortunately, he left us.”

The management expressed gratitude to fans and well-wishers who supported the actor during his battle with illness.

“Thank you all for the love, support, prayers, and words of encouragement shown during this hard time of our brother. Rest in peace, Bright Owusu,” the statement added.

C Confion rose to prominence through his comedic roles alongside popular skit actor Dr. Likee, earning admiration for his humor and relatable performances.

His contributions to the skit industry helped establish him as a household name in Ghana’s entertainment scene.

Prior to his passing, the management team had released a statement on Wednesday, December 18, assuring fans that C Confion was receiving the necessary medical care.

They had called for prayers and support while urging the public to avoid unverified speculation about his health.

“We kindly ask for your support through prayers for his swift recovery and request that the media and the general public refrain from any form of speculation or unverified reportage,” the earlier statement noted.
