Reports of Mohbad having a thumb-printed will false, misleading — Management team

Late Nigerian singer Mohbad

The management team of late Nigerian singer Mohbad has denied reports of the existence of a thumb-printed will left by the artist.

In a statement shared on Mohbad's official Instagram page on Monday, January 15, the management team described the reports as "false and misleading."

The statement clarified that no member of Mohbad's management or his lawyer has communicated the existence of such a will to his family or the public.

It further stated that if a valid will had existed, it would have been duly registered with the Probate Registry.

"We therefore plead with everyone to refrain from sharing false and misleading statements like this," the statement noted.

The management also provided updates on the ongoing police investigations into Mohbad's death in September 2022 at age 27.

It said autopsy results from samples sent abroad will take months to be finalized.

All accounts owned by the singer, according to his management, have also been placed under a post-no-debit order until the resolution of an "internal dispute" within his family.

The clarification comes amid controversies over reports that the young crooner had prepared a will, a development his father found unbelievable and surprising.

The management urged the public to only share facts to aid justice and closure.
