Ghanaian rapper Medikal has revealed that his dream job as a child was to become a bank manager, but he ultimately chose a career in music instead.

Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Asaase Radio on Monday, November 13, the 'Omo Ada' hitmaker opened up about his aspirations when he was younger.

“I wanted to be a Bank Manager growing up but my mindset changed and I decided to choose music," Medikal said.

Born Samuel Adu Frimpong in Accra, Medikal developed a love of rapping at a young age after being inspired by American rapper Lil Wayne

“I’m a very big fan of Lil Wayne. I get inspired by him to talk about my life,” he further revealed in the interview.

He honed his musical talents while attending Odorgonno Senior High School.

After briefly working as a footballer for Ghana Premier League side Sekondi Hasaacas, Medikal decided to focus fully on music.

The rapper has received multiple Ghana Music Award nominations and a MTN 4Syte Best Video Award.

He's also collaborated with top Ghanaian artists like Sarkodie and established an international fanbase through appearances on platforms like Tim Westwood TV.
