The 2008 African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) held on Saturday April 26 at the Congress Hall of the Transcorp-Hilton Abuja was, in one word, successful.
Two of the top awards went to Nigeria's own Kate Henshaw-Nuttall, who took away the best lead actress and Nkem Owoh, best lead actor, for their performances in the movie 'Stronger than Pain'.
Winnners in other categories are Emeka Ossai, best supporting actor for his performance in the movie 'Check Point',Joke Silva, best supporting actress, and Ghana's Emmanuel Appiah, best director, for the movie 'Run Baby Run'.
