Appietus churns out his own reality show

For the first time in the history of talent hunt reality shows in Ghana, a popular young recording engineer is set to introduce one with a difference soon to hit our screens. The engineer is none other than Appiah Danquah, a.k.a Appietus of Creative Studioz, and his reality show which is meant to search for musical talents is known as "Appietus Idol".

This, he said, was meant to be part of his 10th anniversary in the engineering business and also a way of sharing his success with society.

Appietus Idol is one with a difference because it has the contestants creating and singing their own songs unlike other reality shows in which contestants sing the songs of popular musicians. Eligible talents will be selected after being auditioned in three zones namely Accra, Kumasi and Takoradi.

To qualify to the preliminaries, one has to be able to compose and sing six songs on his or her own. 30 people who qualify for the preliminaries will be taken through another round of auditioning to select the final 10 who would be camped in a comfortable house and compete in front of a panel of judges and this will be telecast on TV.

The winner of the entire competition will have a recording deal with Creative Studios along with other prizes. This winner will be decided on by 50% SMS text votes from the public as well as 50% decision from the judges.

The Appietus Idol project will be launched in about two weeks time in collaboration with Village Communications. Meanwhile, information from the vine yard indicate that Appietus is on his way to London, where he has established and is running another recording studio, to attend to matters in connection with the talent hunt reality show he is churning out.
