No girlfriends for Eddie now

He's got a job, he's good looking, has a huge sense of humour and is even famous making him a hot catch for the ladies but actor, Eddie Nartey is already taken.

The 28-year-old actor who is single is so much in love with his career at the moment that he is not ready for a relationship. He wants to concentrate on his acting career.  So the ladies who may have a thing for him may have to try their luck elsewhere.

On the other hand, they can take a chill pill and wait for Eddie till he starts dating again which is what he is not too sure about. Eddie has featued in movies such as Ties That Bind, Shakira, Tears Of a Womanhood, Crime To Christ, Passion and Soul, Praising The Lord Plus One, Somewhere In Africa, Love and Crime, Pool Party, Twisted, DNA Test and Snake In The Palace.

Talking to Showbiz last Monday, Eddie said after four failed relationships, he decided to take a break and rather focus on his acting career.

'I am not sure when I will start dating again but for now my love is all for my career. I am putting relationships on hold for a while.  I was with my last girlfriend for over a year and we broke up early this year.

'I have had four failed relationships and I think it is better to take a break for now. Infact, this was a decision my management team and I agreed on some few months ago and I am happy with that', Eddie said.

He admitted however that he feels bad rejecting the ladies who try to win his affection saying 'there is nothing I can do since I have already taken the decision. Loads of girls show interest in me but I have to let them go.

'I don't want to break anybody's heart. I have to be honest to let them know I am not available at the moment. I don't want to string anyone along knowing I am not ready for any committment', he added.

Asked to describe his ideal woman should he hit the dating market again, Eddie said he is not too obsessed with looks. 'She just has to tickle my fancy. Infact, I don't really care about height, skin colour, tribe or level of education once the two of us have some things in common. I am very emotional and I go all out when I am dating. When I am in love I want the whole world to know but for now I am just fine being single' Eddie said.

Throwing light on how he started acting, Eddie, an old student of Holy Trinity Cathedral Senior High said he initially wanted to read architecture at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). That dream however couldn't come true.

He said when he couldn't make it to KNUST, he joined Pacesetters Company, a stage performing group by Zimeran Clottey aka Aluta of Things We Do For Love fame. He later joined Kozi Kozi owned by the ace Ghanaian actor, David Dontoh.

He said it was during his time with Kozi Kozi when he met actress Edinam Atatsi who advised him to further his education so he enrolled at the School Of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon.

Eddie had his break in movies when he featured in Tears Of A Womanhood produced by Abdul Salam Mumini and directed by Frank Rajah.

'I thank God (KNUST) didn't pick me because I wouldn't be where I am now. I would have landed myself a different profession. Today Ghanaians are hailing me for doing so well in movies.

'I am an all round actor who can play any role. I haven't disappointed any producer ever since I started my acting career. All the comments I have received so far are good which goes to testify I am good', Eddie gladly added.
