Beverly Afaglo Not Dead
Ghanaian actress Beverly Afaglo, girlfriend of Praye Honeho, a member of Hiplife trio Praye, has spoken to NEWS-ONE about the near-fatal accident she survived on the Accra-Tema Motorway last Tuesday.
Moments after news of Beverly's accident reached the media, it was followed with speculations of her death and what nearly gave credence to the report was that calls made to her phone did not go through for days.
After several unsuccessful attempts to get to Beverly, NEWS-ONE managed to reach her boyfriend, Praye Honeho, over the matter.
'Beverly is okay. She is okay. She had an accident on the motorway but she is okay,' he noted.
Moments after the assurance from Praye, NEWS-ONE was able to reach Beverly, who confirmed that she was okay and in one piece.
'I am not dead. I am alive. Those who are wishing my death are rather wishing me long life. I am not dead,' Beverly told NEWS-ONE and explained that the accident occurred last Tuesday afternoon around 3pm on the Accra-Tema Motorway.
The actress was with her auto mechanic on their way from the Abossey Okai spare parts market in Accra where they had gone to repair a broken windscreen.
Aside minor bruises, both occupants were unhurt and safe. They were initially rushed to the Tema General Hospital but were treated and discharged.
Beverly was the winner of the 2010 Terracotta Awards and one of Ghana's most liked screen ladies. She has a number of movies to her credit.
She was recently in the news registering her displeasure about how a section of Ghana's local media had handled her love affair with Praye Honeho, known in private life as Eugene Baah.
The beautiful actress said she was not happy that the media always made mention of her boyfriend and his group when handling stories about her, even when the publications had nothing to do with them.
She was particularly upset about media headlines that tagged her as 'Praye's lover', and had warned the media to stop associating her with the Hiplife trio, especially when it came to her personal affairs.
