Queen Latifah, Christina Aguilera To Headline Mary J. Blige Concert
Hip-Hop star/actress Queen Latifah will team with Mary J. Blige's FFAWN organization to co-host the Second Annual Mary J. Blige Honors Concert.
Mary J. and Queen Latifah will be joined by Elle magazine's Editor-in-Chief Robbie Meyers as hosts of the concert, which will be held in honor of the 2011 FFAWN scholarship recipients.
Legendary musician Patrice Rushen will conduct performances by a star-studded cast that includes Christina Aguilera, Anita Baker, Jennifer Hudson, Jill Scott and Corinne Bailey Rae.
In 2010, Mary J.'s non-profit organisation, which stands for the Foundation for the Advancement of Women Now, has helped send 25 young women to college with full, four-year scholarships.
To date, all 25 young women remain enrolled and have maintained the minimum requirement of a 3.0 GPA.
Eight of the young women made the dean's list in their first semester, according to reps for FFAWN, which was founded by Mary J. Blige and industry exec/mogul Steve Stoute.
