Multi TV's La Tormenta telenovella, the story
From Telemundo, the producers of Second Chance comes 'La Tormenta' (The Storm), a whirlwind of passion, intrigue and love.
Maria Teresa (Natalia Stregnard) is a beautiful, strong and hard working woman accustomed to living in the city. However, when her family is faced with financial problems, she leaves the comfort of the city and travels to the family's country estate, 'La Tormenta' in a bid to save her family from financial ruin.
Upon her arrival at the estate, she realizes the situation will not be like she had imagined. She meets Santos Torrealba (Christian Mejer), the estate's administrator, and they declare war on the first day. They however, can't avoid seeing each other and each time they meet, a confrontation ensues ending in an unfavorable quarrel. They try to do the impossible to separate themselves from each other to avoid any conflict, but instead an intense, passionate feeling grows between them.
Maria Teresa finds herself among people with different morals, feelings and ambitions that affect her, making her job even more difficult. She is faced with a hostile environment full of conflicts.
She is a strong woman; sure of herself and thinks she will be able reach her goal even though the towns' people don't believe it.
Among these people is her cousin, Isabela Montilla (Natasha Klauss), beautiful, cruel and calculating. Edelmira Guerrero (Kristina Lilley) is envious and a bad woman who tries at all cost to obtain possession of the estate. When she was young she tried to kill Maria Teresa's mother. Simon Guerrero (Marcelo Buquet) under his elegant appearance hides his wickedness and ambition and also wants to take ownership of La Tormenta. Bernarda Ayala (Aura Cristina Geithner) is a single mother who defends her honor and her daughters Trinidad (Carmen Villalobos) and Valentina (Eileen Abad), at all cost. Valentina is beautiful, passionate and brave. Although her mother has prohibited her from dating, she is clear on what she wants, to gain Santos Torrealba's love. She challenges her mother and Maria Teresa and marries Santos, but what she believes will be her happy ending turns out to be her perdition.
Maria has to face greed, envy and wickedness from all of them to reach her goal of transforming La Tormenta into a prosperous place which will help her family resolve their economic problems. Will she succeed in the face of all this hostility and will she be able to avoid falling in love with Santos?
