Residents of Fanteakwa South district bemoan impact of illegal mining on water bodies

The chiefs and people of Gyampomani and Akyem Hemang in the Fanteakwa South District of the Eastern Region have vowed to prevent political activities in both communities if government does not take steps to save their water bodies from being destroyed by illegal miners.

The residents have accused some small scale miners of defying buffer zones marked by the Environmental Protection Agency and the Water Resources Commission, by mining in water bodies. #CitiNewsroom #CitiTube
