Landfill collapse in Guinea kills at least 30 people

A landfill collapse in Conakry has killed at least 30 people, with many more still missing after heavy rains triggered landslides that buried homes built around the site's perimeter. Survivors describe a second wave of debris burying rescuers who rushed to help those trapped by the first collapse. Residents say they had long protested the landfill's presence and warned officials of the danger, accusing the government of ignoring repeated calls for its closure. Guinea's prime minister has visited the site, pledging resources for those affected.
