Interior Minister Muntaka Warns Against Self-Defence Groups In Ghana

Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak has charged the Ghana Police Service to intensify efforts to stamp out the menace of vigilantism in the country.

According to the Minister, the growing trend of individuals and groups establishing self-defence forces poses a serious threat to national peace and security.

He stressed the need for stronger action to prevent vigilantism from taking root and undermining public safety and the authority of the state.

The directive comes amid renewed concerns over the activities of groups operating outside the formal security system and the potential risks they pose to Ghana's peace and stability.
