Slavery's legacy is alive and well

August 23 marks the UN's International Day for the Remembrance of the Slave Trade and its Abolition.

But remembrance also raises a question of justice.

From Haiti's historic demand that France repay the billions it extracted after independence to the Caribbean community's push for justice from former colonial powers, the struggle for reparations continues.
