Syrian family seeks justice after custody death ignites public outrage
In Al‑Bab, mourners gather for Mohamed Ghamira, whose death in police custody is blamed by investigators on a single slap despite his known hemophilia. The officer is detained and faces prosecution. Syrian Interior Minister Anas Khattab said in a statement that the investigation results showed the ministry's “commitment to reaching the truth and holding accountable those proven to have overstepped”.
