Jinapor appeals for calm after nationwide power outage, says Akosombo works will be completed next month

The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Dr. John Jinapor is appealing to Ghanaians to exercise restraint following this morning's power outage. Parts of the country were plunged into darkness this dawn with the Ghan Grid Company (GRIDCo) blaming it on a fault at the Akosombo Volta Transmission Line. Speaking at the commissioning of an ultra modern office complex for the PURC, Dr. Jinapor explained that the power trip is due to ongoing works at the Akosombo Transmission Line which was badly affected some weeks ago. He however assured that the rebuilding works will be completed next month.
