Roads Minister Warns Contractors Against Delays After GH¢20bn Payments

The Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has urged contractors to work efficiently and complete ongoing road projects on schedule.

The call comes after government paid more than GH¢20 billion for road projects across the country, including outstanding arrears owed to contractors.

Speaking during an inspection of major road projects in the Greater Accra Region, the Roads and Highways Minister stressed the need for contractors to translate the payments into timely progress and completed projects.

The government says the payments are part of efforts to clear inherited arrears, sustain ongoing road works and accelerate infrastructure development nationwide.
