FIFA Lifts Hearts of Oak Registration Ban After Hiddink Payment

Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed that FIFA has closed the case involving former coach Rene Hiddink after the club fully settled the amount owed to him.
The Phobians say FIFA formally communicated the closure on August 18, following confirmation from Hiddink that he had received the payment.
FIFA has subsequently lifted all registration restrictions imposed on Hearts of Oak in connection with the matter, clearing the club to register new players and complete its transfer activities.
Hearts of Oak says it is satisfied with the resolution and maintains that it acted in good faith throughout the process while working towards a responsible and amicable settlement.
The development comes ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season, which is scheduled to kick off on September 4, and gives the Phobians a clear path to finalise their squad and transfer business.
