Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways Alhassan Suhuyini joins us for an update on government's road projects following the payment of more than GH¢20 billion to contractors, including arrears owed to them.
With these payments made, questions remain over why some contractors are still behind schedule and what sanctions government will impose if delays continue.
The Roads Minister, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has also expressed disappointment with the slow pace of work on the 17-kilometre Tema–Aflao Road stretch being handled by First Sky Limited and BHM Construction Limited.
We ask Deputy Minister Alhassan Suhuyini what is causing the delays, whether firm performance deadlines have been given to the contractors and what action government will take to ensure delivery.
Motorists and residents along major corridors, including Adenta–Dodowa, continue to face heavy traffic, dust and other disruptions caused by ongoing construction.
