More than 5,000 people still missing in Gaza, Red Cross says | BBC News

Ten months after a supposed ceasefire came into effect in Gaza, US President Trump's peace plan for the strip has stalled. More than 1,200 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli strikes since the ceasefire was announced last October, bringing the total number killed during the war to more than 73,000 according to the Hamas run Health Ministry in the strip. But there are fears the actual number of deaths could be significantly higher. The Red Cross said there are more than 5,000 people still missing in Gaza. Israel does not allow journalists free access to the territory.
