Iran–UAE trade lifeline at risk after missiles claim and naval blockade
Iran has long relied on the United Arab Emirates as a commercial gateway, with around 90 percent of its trade flowing via Dubai's Jebel Ali port and the UAE providing 30 percent of Iran's global imports. Technology, computers and mobiles dominate UAE exports, while Iran sends agricultural goods and oil. But after the UAE reported detecting Iranian ballistic missiles in its airspace and a US naval blockade tightened, this vital trade link is now at risk.
