Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has rejected claims that the Minority's criticism of GoldBod is politically or personally motivated.

Speaking on Eyewitness News on Tuesday, August 18, he said the concerns are about institutional inefficiency and policy failure, particularly the financial implications of GoldBod's operations.

Afenyo-Markin said the Minority's concerns are based on issues highlighted by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and urged the government to address the substance of the concerns instead of focusing on the motives of those raising them.

He maintained that the key issue is whether policies implemented through GoldBod have resulted in financial losses to the state.
