Bank of Ghana: Asiama Charges Non-Interest Finance Council To Protect Consumers

The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Asiama, has charged members of the newly inaugurated Non-Interest Financial Advisory Council to ensure that innovation in non-interest finance does not come at the expense of consumer protection and financial stability.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Council in Accra, Dr Asiama urged members to carefully assess new financial products and ensure that emerging innovations remain aligned with sound regulatory principles.
He also called on the Council to interpret and apply relevant principles in response to changing market conditions while maintaining confidence and stability within Ghana's financial sector.
