37 Drivers Prosecuted For Using Unapproved Vehicle Lights

The Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Central East Regional Police Command has prosecuted 37 drivers for attaching unapproved lights to their vehicles.

The action follows several months of sustained education and caution to drivers against the use of unauthorised vehicle lighting systems.

Police say the enforcement exercise will continue until sanity is restored and motorists comply with road safety regulations.

The crackdown forms part of efforts to improve road safety and ensure motorists adhere to approved vehicle standards.
