Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has warned that the management of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) could face onerous bail conditions in the future over what he alleges is a GH¢22 billion loss arising from the institution's gold trading operations.
His comments form part of the Minority's continued calls for GoldBod to account for losses allegedly incurred through its operations and provide greater clarity on the financial management of the institution.
The Minority has also linked the alleged losses to the Bank of Ghana's negative equity position and has accused GoldBod of mismanagement and causing financial loss to the state.
