Education Managers Urged To Add Volunteerism To School Curriculum

Education managers in Ghana have been urged to incorporate volunteerism into the school curriculum to help equip young people with practical skills and valuable workplace experience.

Senior Lecturer in Sociology at the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom, Dr Sam Okyere, says integrating volunteerism into education will help instil a culture of service among young people.

He noted that volunteering goes beyond community service, helping young people develop important skills such as teamwork, leadership, communication and problem-solving.

Dr Okyere made the call during the Bono Region's celebration of World Youth Day.
