Ghana’s Gas Push Is Saving $500m a Year – Energy Minister

Minister for Energy and Green Transitions Dr John Jinapor says Ghana's shift towards a gas-driven power generation system has helped reduce the country's dependence on imported liquid fuels, generating annual savings of about $500 million.

Speaking at the launch of the Petroleum Commission's 15th anniversary celebrations, Dr Jinapor said increased domestic gas production, supported by collaboration with industry partners, has significantly reduced Ghana's crude oil import requirements.
