Kushner's latest Middle East trip to push Trump's Gaza peace plan hits dead end | DW News

US President Donald Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner met with militant group Hamas in Egypt on Sunday, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday. Neither meetings yielded a breakthrough: Hamas says it wants Israel to leave Gaza as a condition for laying down its weapons. Netanyahu says he will only start to withdraw troops once Hamas disarms. We spoke to Middle East expert Fawaz Gerges about the impasse.
