Morgan Ayawine: ICU Ghana Will Resist Attempts To Divest Strategic National Assets

The General Secretary of the Industrial and Commercial Workers' Union of Ghana (ICU Ghana), Morgan Ayawine, has reiterated the union's commitment to resisting unilateral decisions that could undermine strategic national enterprises and assets.

He made the comments after receiving continental recognition as Africa's Most Respected CEO in Labour and Union Leadership at the 6th Africa's Most Respected CEOs Conference and Awards held in Lusaka, Zambia.

Mr. Ayawine was honoured for his visionary leadership, business excellence, innovation and commitment to ethical leadership.

He said ICU Ghana would not hesitate to oppose any attempt, particularly by government, to divest its interest in strategic national assets with significant growth potential, including the Volta Aluminium Company (VALCO).
