Aftermath of wildfire in Greece

A deadly wildfire tore through Salamina, west of Greece's capital Athens, killing an elderly couple and injuring several others on Sunday, Aug. 16.

Strong winds fueled the blaze, damaging homes and forcing the evacuation of more than 500 people by sea.

Residents returned on Monday to assess the destruction as emergency and Red Cross teams continued assisting affected communities. The cause of the fire remains unknown.
