FDA Warns Against Selling or Eating Food Exposed to Floodwater

The Food and Drugs Authority has warned the public against buying or consuming food and beverages that have been exposed to floodwater.

The FDA is urging consumers, particularly in flood-affected areas, to carefully inspect food packaging for damage or compromised structural integrity before making purchases.

Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the FDA, Roderick Daddey Adjei, cautioned that people who sell or distribute flood-exposed products could face prosecution under the Public Health Act.
