NPP Regional Elections: What COKA and Abronye Must Do Now - Samuel Afriyie

Political analyst Dr. Samuel Afriyie assesses the challenges facing two of the NPP's newly elected regional leaders following the party's August 15, 2026 regional executive elections - Kwame Baffoe (Abronye DC), re-elected Bono Regional Chairman, and Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), the new Ashanti Regional Chairman.

"Kwame Baffour, popularly known as Abronye, will have to change his communication class to make the party attractive in his region. He has a lot of work to do, as the region is not performing as the NPP would want." - Dr. Samuel Afriyie

"The biggest task for the NPP's newly elected chairman, Odeneho Kwaku Appiah (COKA), will be to appeal to the youth of the Ashanti Region, as the Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, has really done a good job for the NDC." - Dr. Samuel Afriyie
