Residents of Noro are appealing for the completion of an abandoned E-Block Senior High School project, which they say has remained unfinished since construction began in 2016.
For the community, the abandoned project represents a missed opportunity for hundreds of young people who face difficulties accessing secondary education.
With no senior high school in the community, students are forced to travel to distant districts and regions to continue their education. For families with limited financial resources, the cost of transportation, accommodation and other expenses can make secondary education difficult to afford.
Some young people are consequently unable to continue their education after completing junior high school.
The E-Block project was initiated to provide secondary education for Noro and surrounding communities, but construction remains incomplete years after work began.
Speaking to Channel One News, the Assembly Member said residents supported the return of the NDC to power with the expectation that the abandoned project would be completed.
Residents are now calling for renewed attention to the project to improve access to secondary education for young people in Noro and surrounding communities.
